How would you like to wine and dine your way around the apple isle? 

Fully escorted & limited to a small group of only 10-14 passengers, DOMESTIKKA’s regional specialist will take you on a custom-made luxury gourmet journey. Start with your arrival into Launceston and check into your historic boutique accommodation in a converted Silo! Visit Bay of fires and the white sandy beaches of Binalong Bay and go on a wine tour at the House of Arras – now famous for its award-winning sparkling wine. Depart for Richmond and walk along its pictureque famous bridge & lunch at Hatchers Manor before arriving in Hobart, where you will spend 3 nights staying in the historic Orient Hadley hotel, centrally located within walking distance to Salamanca Markets & CBD. During your stay you will visit the markets, wine & dine in some of the city’s favourite restaurants and enjoy leisure time to explore the city. Spend a day on Bruny Island, where you will go on a ‘foodie’ tour & get the chance to spot whales on your return ferry ride. From here you head to Strahan via Derwent for lunch at their local pub before a visit to Wall of the Wilderness and Nelson Falls. A trip to Strahan would not be complete without a cruise along the Gordan river, through Tasmania’s Wilderness World Heritage area – all done in luxury on the cruise ship’s top deck with lunch & drinks included. Travel from Strahan to Cradle Mountain and check into Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge for the night. You will learn about Tasmanian devils, enjoy a wine & cheese tasting, take a walk around Dove lake, animal spotting along the way & lunch at the tavern. On the way back to Launceston stop at Sheffield to see its famous Murals.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Launceston On arrival into Launceston airport, you will be met and transferred directly to your accommodation at Peppers Silo Hotel for your check in. Welcome dinner will be at Grain of the Silo’s restaurant for a delicious three course meal. Overnight at Peppers Silo Hotel – Tamar River Room.

Day 2

Launceston  Today we do a full-day excursion to the Bay of Fires on Tasmania’s east coast. In the morning, travel to Binalong Bay and enjoy a coffee & scone at Scottsdale. Then continue to the magnificent Bay of Fires to see & walk on the orange-lichen granite rocks. Visit the white sandy beaches of Binalong Bay. On return trip lunch is at the Farm Gate Café in Pyengana. After lunch continue straight to Pipers Brook and visit the House of Arras cellar door for a wine tasting & information tour, then return to Launceston & your hotel. Enjoy the evening at your leisure. Overnight at Peppers Silo Hotel – Tamar River Room.

Day 3

Launceston / Hobart  After breakfast we have an early start heading down the Midland highway towards Hobart. A stop for morning tea at the town of Ross in their famous Bakery, their ‘Vanilla slices’ is what they are renowned for. Then we continue to the beautiful town of Richmond where you can wander the streets & walk across the historic Richmond Bridge. A 2-course lunch with a glass of wine is being served at Hatcher’s Manor. Later this afternoon, we conclude the day with a visit at Wicked Cheese before you arrive at the Hadley’s Orient Hotel in Hobart, where we will stay for the next 3 nights. Tonight enjoy a 2-course dinner served at Drunken Admiral seafood restaurant at Hobart’s waterfront. Overnight at the Hadley’s Orient Hotel – Superior room.

Day 4

Hobart After breakfast, enjoy a visit to one of Australia’s most vibrant and loved outdoor markets, Salamanca Markets. Wander through the lanes of stalls enjoying samples from some of Tasmania’s local producers. This afternoon you may want to choose our MONA optional tour to explore this contemporary art gallery or wander through streets & discover the delights of Hobart on your own. Meet at 6pm for dinner at The Lounge at Frogmore. Enjoy a 2-course dinner with a glass of wine. Overnight at the Hadley’s Orient Hotel – Superior room.

Day 5

Hobart / Bruny Island  Today we head to Bruny Island, absolutely a food lover’s delight! Drive to Kettering and cross over the d’Entrecasteaux Channel on a 20-minute ferry ride to Bruny Island. Visit the Neck, stop to taste Whiskey at the Smokehouse, chocolate at Bruny Island Chocolate Factory and Oysters at Get Shucked. Enjoy a lunch at Bruny Island Premier Wines (share Tasmanian Platter, main course & glass of wine). We then visit the inactive Bruny Island lighthouse on the southern tip of Bruny Island. On the way back to the jetty enjoy a stop at Bruny Island Cheese for another tasting. Enjoy evening at your leisure. Overnight at the Hadley’s Orient Hotel – Superior room.

Day 6

Hobart  / Strahan After breakfast, set off on our journey with a quick stop in the highland village of Tarraleah with its industrial past. Continue to Derwent Bridge for lunch at Derwent Bridge hotel and see Lake St Clair. Visit the Wall in the Wilderness, a 100m sculpture of carved works depicting the history, culture & perseverance of the people in the Central Highlands area. Continue on to Nelson Falls and Iron Blow lookout before arriving at Strahan. Enjoy dinner tonight at View 42 Restaurant. Overnight at the Strahan Village – Village terrace room.

Day 7

Strahan  This morning after breakfast, we head to the Gordon River Cruise terminal for your breathtaking cruise along the Gordon River. On board the hybrid driven ‘Spirit of the Wild’ you will quietly cruise through Tasmania’s Wilderness World Heritage area. Travelling on the top deck you will enjoy a hot & cold buffet lunch. Upon return to the cruise terminal, travel via Ocean Beach, the Henty Dunes &/or Hogarth Falls before returning to the hotel to relax. Enjoy evening at your leisure. Overnight at the Strahan Village – Village terrace room.

Day 8

Strahan / Cradle Mountain After breakfast, set off on our adventure to Cradle Mountain. Stop in Zeehan on the way to visit the West Coast Heritage Museum. We will spend about 90 minutes at the museum followed by a coffee & pastry at Carol’s on Main. Late morning we continue to Cradle Mountain where we’ll arrive around 1pm. Guests have time to settle in before joining your guide for a visit at Devils@Cradle. At around 4pm return & transfer to Cradle Mountain Lodge for a hosted wine & cheese tasting. Enjoy evening at your leisure after a scenic filled day. Overnight at Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge – Pencil Pine Cabin. 

Day 9

Cradle Mountain / Launceston This morning we enjoy a Dove Lake walk, (2,5-hour circuit) and animal spotting on the Weindorfers’ track (wombats grazing like cows). Followed by a farewell lunch at Cradle Mountain Tavern to cheers wonderful memories made. Afterwards drive to Launceston with a brief stop at Sheffield to see the ‘Murals’ before arriving back at Launceston around 4pm. Overnight at Peppers Silo Launceston – Tamar River Room. 

Day 10

Depart Launceston  Enjoy the morning at leisure in Launceston & last minute shopping, before being transferred to the airport for your flight home.
